How We Grow Our Organic Sweet Corn
We have grown our organic sweet corn ourselves since 1991 on the polder clay of West Brabant and Zeeland. Skal-certified, without synthetic fertiliser or chemical pesticides, and washed, sterilised and packed straight after harvest.
Where is your organic sweet corn grown?
On our own fields on the polder clay of West Brabant and Zeeland. This fertile marine-clay soil gives the sweet corn a full, natural flavour. Because we grow it ourselves, the origin of every cob is known.
How is the sweet corn organically grown?
Fully organic and Skal-certified under mark NL-BIO-01: without synthetic fertiliser and without chemical pesticides. Broad crop rotation and natural soil care keep both the crop and the land healthy.
When is the sweet corn harvested?
In the summer and late-summer months, exactly when the kernels are at their sweetest. Straight after harvest the cobs go to our own processing so that no sugar is lost.
How is the natural sweetness preserved?
Because we wash, sterilise and vacuum-pack within a few hours of harvest. This keeps the sweet corn for up to six months outside refrigeration, retaining its natural sweetness and with no additives.
